CAR1MILLON

The Composition

CAR1MILLON does not sell a model car. It sells the composition that holds it — the frame, the light, and the week of work that joins them.

The model

The base model is chosen for the collector, not for the margin. We work with hand-built resin makers — BBR, MR Collection and their equals — where a single 1:18 model can cost more than most finished display pieces on the market. We do not use mass-market diecast.

Every model arrives new and sealed, and is handled only with gloves from the moment it leaves its box.

The frame

Wood. Cut, hand-sanded and painted matte black, layer after layer, until nothing in the room competes with the car.

45 × 27 × 11,7 cm. Wider than a briefcase and deeper than a shelf ornament — this is a piece of furniture, not a desk object. It is meant to be given its own space and looked at from across the room.

There is no glass and no acrylic across the front. The composition is open, which means you see the object itself rather than your own reflection, and the surface never yellows the way an enclosed panel does over the years.

The frame is the same on every reference. That is deliberate. This is not a range of products — it is one design, and the car inside it is what changes.

The light

A forty-centimetre bar, built to measure for the composition and mounted so the light falls along the length of the car rather than into the eye of whoever is looking at it.

It is touch-operated and entirely wireless, running on its own rechargeable cell and charged over USB when it runs down. There is no cable to the wall. The piece goes where you want it — a shelf, a desk, a dressing room — and not where the nearest socket happens to be.

The base

Technical microfibre, cut and fitted by hand to the floor of the composition. The colour is chosen by the collector when the commission is specified.

Time

More than a week of work goes into a single composition. Cutting, sanding, sealing, painting, curing between coats, wiring, fitting, and the hours that go into getting a straight edge to actually read as straight.

None of it is subcontracted and none of it arrives finished. Every piece is made in Spain, by hand, by one person.

Ten per reference

Ten compositions are built for each reference, and then it closes.

That number is not a marketing device. It is what one pair of hands can do without the work getting worse. When the tenth is delivered the reference is retired, the specification is not reissued, and there is no second run.

Commissioning

Nothing is held in stock. A composition begins when a collector commissions it, and the model is sourced for that piece alone.

An allocation deposit of fifteen percent opens the commission and is credited in full against the final price. The specification — model, base colour — is confirmed in writing before any work starts. Compositions from 3.000 €.

Each piece travels in its own case, with a pair of white gloves made for handling it. Delivery is fully insured, at our cost, anywhere in Europe.
