Born from the legendary McLaren F1 road car, the 1996 GTR Shorttail is a masterpiece of motorsport engineering. Powered by a naturally aspirated 6.1L V12 engine developed by BMW, this track-only machine delivered over 600 hp in a lightweight, aerodynamic chassis refined for endurance racing. With only 9 units ever built, the Shorttail marked the final evolution of the original GTR before transitioning into the Longtail era.
Its compact silhouette, raw performance, and racing pedigree – including appearances at Le Mans – make it one of the most desirable GT1 cars of all time. This piece is a tribute to that legacy, created for collectors who understand the value of rarity and heritage.
